Version 1.0

The initial console release had a flashable TSOP of 1mb in size and 64mb of RAM (with areas on the motherboard allowing an upgrade to 128mb).

It had a special daughterboard connecting the controller sockets to the motherboard, and a (rather noisy) heatsink attached to the GPU.

Version 1.1

Essentially a 1.0 with the daughterboard and GPU cooling fan removed. Instead a larger heatsink was installed, making for a quieter system. The rc4 code also changed from the one on the 1.0 version.

Version 1.2

Essentially a 1.1 with a flashable TSOP of only 256kb in size. Also the power supply changed from a 12pin connecter on models 1.0-1.1 to a 20pin connector on all models after that.

Version 1.3

Essentially a 1.2 as far as this author knows.Only known differences are the dates it was produced.

Version 1.4

Essentially a 1.3 as far as this author knows. The video encoder chip changed to the focas in the 1.4.Most of the tsop chips are winbond on this model as well.

Version 1.5

Essentially a 1.4 as far as this author knows. May not actually exist. If it does, then it is at the least very rare. The 1.5 version is supposed to be identical to a 1.4 in every way other than the fact that it is missing 3.3v on LPC pin #9 and is missing ground on LPC pin #2.

Version 1.6

The RAM expansion areas on the motherboard were removed. Furthermore, the TSOP is not flashable with this model the TSOP,PIC16 were replaced with the xyclops. The video encoder chip changed to xcalibur. There were also major changes to the LPC region. The power supply changed as well the standby voltage changed where all other models have a 3.3v standby the 1.6v xbox has a 5 volt standby.

Version 1.6b

Essentially a 1.6 as far as this author knows. The ram changed from samsung on all previous models to hynix on the 1.6b
